ABOUT ME
I have an undergrad educational background in Writing, Rhetorical Argument, and Classical Civilizations. I am an unabashed lover of science fiction, video games, period drama, Law & Order, and Classical Literature. I'd like to break into game design development on RPG or MMORPG video game companies.
Since 2012, I have authored 3 science fiction novels, self published online. In 2016, I was producer and game designer in the class "Building Virtual Worlds," run by Dave Culyba and Jesse Schell. Our game, on which I served as a producer, lead designer, and concept developer, "Hexahedron Henry Hurries" was featured at GDC 2017 in Jesse Schell's talk "Lessons Learned from a Thousand Virtual Worlds."
WHAT I'VE DONE
I am now studying at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center to focus my diverse and eclectic background towards design in video games and film. In the program, I am a producer, game mechanics designer & developer, and concept developer. I am also an effective leader of small teams working on real-world client projects, and a rapidly developing Game Designer!
WHAT I DO
WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO
I'm seeking opportunities to amalgamate my analytical communications background with my creative propensity to develop concept and game mechanics and systems development in a company that encourages creativity.
My 5 person team, on which I was game mechanics designer and producer, developed an Oculus/LEAP Motion game called Hexahedron Henry Hurries, or H3!, in 2 weeks during the Immersion Semester at the Entertainment Technology Center. Attached is a Youtube link to a sample play-through.
Portal Keeper D was a Tango-developed game, built from the ground up in just 7 days. The purpose of the game was to hover a cross-hair over the escaped dragons to "banish" back to their realm in a 3 - 5 minute game experience, a design mechanic which I took part in developing. I worked as producer and game mechanics designer for this game, and wrote the theme music.
This capstone project (1 of 2) evaluates the development of the Silk Road and the Roman Empire.
